There is a vital organization in our very midst, laden with women, teens and a commitment to serve.
This group of incredible women has spent over ONE MILLION HOURS ACROSS the States making a difference in their communities.
The joy of this plethora of women is that mothers and their daughter serve together, side by side working in so many capacities.
These women belong to the organization known as The National Charity League.
Our NCL tag line for this year is:
Live it. Love it. Share it.
And The National Charity League states that they change lives by inspiring and empowering women to succeed as confident, well-rounded and socially aware contributors in their communities.
I can state firsthand that that is the truth for the members; it is exciting to be a part of something so compelling.
My teen and I serve in the Cherry Blossom chapter where in the last year, 6,165 hours were served locally.
From volunteering at philanthropy walks to serving dinner at our homeless shelter, we are training up our daughters to
responsibly serve others. We’ve collected clothes, packed meal packs, served at the Special Olympics Events and joyfully learned that through service to others, we often leave at the end of the day feeling like we were the ones who were most blessed.
It is my family’s honor and privilege to serve with such an amazing group pf committed women and wonderful teens. Every year that we serve is truly a life changing experience. I hope that this lesson in servitude will carry through my daughter’s life and instill values that cannot yet be measured.
I encourage anyone with teenagers to consider serving in some capacity in their own community.
Sometimes the needs are the greatest, right around the corner from our very own homes!
